LOVE LYNX CATTERY — ADOPT A KITTEN

Bringing Home a Love Lynx Kitten

At Love Lynx Cattery, our goal is not simply to place kittens—it’s to thoughtfully match each one with the right home for a lifetime.

We raise our Highlander and Highland Lynx kittens in-home, where they are exposed to daily life, handled consistently, and nurtured for confidence, affection, and adaptability.

From the very beginning, our focus is on:

  • Health and responsible breeding

  • Exceptional temperament

  • Early socialization and development

Because of this, every kitten leaves us as a well-rounded companion, not just a beautiful pet.

OUR APPROACH TO PLACEMENT

We work through a waitlist system to ensure each family has the time, guidance, and support needed when selecting a kitten.

Once approved, families are invited to choose in order of deposit when kittens become available.

We are always happy to guide you—but final placement decisions are made with the kitten’s best long-term outcome in mind.

WHY WE ENCOURAGE TWO KITTENS

Whenever possible, we recommend adopting two kittens together—especially littermates or naturally bonded pairs.

Kittens raised with a companion tend to:

  • Adjust more smoothly to new environments

  • Develop stronger social skills

  • Be more confident and less prone to boredom-related behaviors

While a single kitten can absolutely thrive in the right home, paired placements often create a more balanced and enriching experience for both the kitten and the owner.

ADOPTION FEES

Our pricing reflects the quality, care, and intention behind our program.

Each kitten receives the same investment in:

  • Veterinary care and preventative health

  • High-quality nutrition

  • Daily handling and socialization

  • Responsible, selective breeding practices

  • Highlander / Highland Lynx kitten: $1,800

We do not price based on physical traits such as ear curl, tail length, or coat type. Every kitten represents the same level of dedication and care.

COMPANION PLACEMENT INCENTIVE

To support the successful placement of kittens in pairs, we offer a small companion incentive:

  • Two kittens adopted together: $3,400 total

This is offered to encourage ideal social development and long-term wellbeing—not as a reduction in value.

RESERVATIONS & DEPOSITS

A $250 non-refundable deposit per kitten is required to:

  • Join our waitlist, or

  • Reserve a specific kitten once selections begin

Deposits are applied toward the final adoption fee and determine selection order within each litter.

Because we plan our program carefully and often have a waitlist, deposits are non-refundable.

 **A Note on Pricing

Adoption fees are firm and reflect the level of care, experience, and intention behind our program.

We are always happy to answer questions and help guide you—but we do not negotiate pricing.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Before going home, your kitten will:

  • Receive age-appropriate veterinary care and a state-issued health certificate

  • Be well-socialized and accustomed to a home environment

  • Be evaluated for temperament and readiness

We are committed to transparency and will always communicate openly about each kitten’s personality and needs to ensure the best possible match.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Love Lynx Cattery was built on the belief that health and temperament should never be compromised for appearance.

While our cats are striking in looks, what truly sets Highlander/Highland Lynx kittens apart is their:

  • Confidence

  • Affectionate nature

  • Ability to integrate seamlessly into family life

We are not a volume breeder, and we do not produce kittens to meet trends or specific aesthetic demands.

Our focus is, and always will be, on raising kittens who thrive—not just in your home, but throughout their entire lives.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT KITTEN

While many families are initially drawn to specific physical traits, we encourage focusing on personality and fit.

No two kittens are identical, and we cannot guarantee:

  • Ear curl

  • Tail type

  • Exact coat or markings

What we do guarantee is that every kitten is raised with the same priority on health, temperament, and social development.

HEALTH & BREEDING PRACTICES

At Love Lynx Cattery, health and temperament are the foundation of our breeding program. We carefully select our breeding cats, prioritize responsible pairings, and raise our kittens in a home environment with extensive socialization and individualized care.

All kittens receive age-appropriate veterinary care and are evaluated prior to placement.

While every effort is made to produce healthy kittens, no breeder can guarantee that a living animal will remain free from illness or develop no health concerns throughout its lifetime. Our health guarantee and responsibilities are outlined in our adoption contract.

We prioritize health and responsible breeding, but we do not promise perfection. We stand behind our breeding decisions, communicate openly, and continually evaluate our program to produce the healthiest kittens possible.

OWNER RESPONSIBILITY

Once the kitten is with their owner or shipped, the kitten is fully the responsibility of the new owner. After wellness health certificate is issued, owner is responsible, within 10 days of adoption, to bring kitten to their local veterinary clinic for applicable vaccinations and follow-up exam.

Please review About the Breed and blog article "Is a Highland Lynx Right for Me?" for helpful information to ensure this breed is the right breed for your family.

Should a kitten ever need additional care in which unforeseen circumstances prohibit owner to care appropriately for their new addition, please contact Love Lynx Cattery directly for guidance.

BREED CERTIFICATE & REGISTRATION

A certificate for the purebred registration with The International Cat Association (TICA) can be provided upon request for a small fee and proof of spay/neuter of kitten.
